Hannah graduated with an MSc in Global Politics from the London School of Economics and a BA in International Relations from Durham University. Prior to joining MEND she was an Institutional Funding Associate for the charity Islamic Help, securing funding for various projects from supporting acid attack survivors in Bangladesh to refugee crisis appeals in the Central African Republic. She was a research intern for the Bureau of Investigative Journalism where she collected data on victims of drone attacks in Pakistan and Yemen, having written her masters dissertation on the subject. She is still an active volunteer for various humanitarian aid charities, participating in a sponsored skydive in Summer 2015 to raise money for aid camps housing displaced Rohingya Muslims.
