Career Inspiration Talk: Entrepreneurship & Volunteering – Bolton

Date: 16 Dec 2017

Time: 2:00pm - 5:00pm

Venue: BCOM Centre, 1 Vicarage Street
Bolton, BL3 5LE United Kingdom

About this event:

This talk is part of a series of careers events in Bolton to help inspire young people and their parents to take career planning and volunteering seriously. The ultimate aim is to help inspire young people to raise their aspirations and provide advice to parents on how they can help. So far we have arranged talks about Healthcare Careers and Financial/Professional Services Careers with more talks, events & workshops in the pipeline.

The objective of this specific event is to encourage young people to seriously thinking about developing their own ideas and setting up a business, regardless of whether they go to university or not. This is an important topic due to continued uncertainty for young people (i.e. rising debts, austerity, BREXIT etc), a growing culture of disruptive entrepreneurship and accelerated technological automation which is reducing the size of the required workforce (especially low skilled jobs such as taxis & manufacturing) in the coming decades. So there has never been a better time for young people to build and develop their own ideas.
