About this event:
#LoveaMuslimDay is a response to recent hate crime letters which have been sent to British Muslims across the UK. We recognise that there is no place for such hatred in society, and celebrate the response which counteracts extremist narrative in a positive way, bringing people together and celebrating unity and diversity by #Standingtogether.
The event will have food stalls, speeches from Police, Council and MEND members, spoken word and a selfie frame.
Event objectives:
- Bring people together in a positive manner
- Celebrate the diversity of Muslims
- Reassure individuals who have concerns about these letters
- Highlight ways we can become more proactive to tackle hate crime
