Andrew Jenkinson, age 41, was found guilty of assaulting and abusing an anti-racism campaigner in Edinburgh, the Scotsman reports.
On 21 September 2016, Dominic O’Hara was handing out anti-racism leaflets at a “Fight Racism” stall near the Mosque Kitchen in Edinburgh. Jenkinson approached O’Hara and began shouting, swearing, and making deeply offensive remarks about minorities and anti-racism activists.
Jenkinson shouted, “We will hunt people like you down. You love Islamists.”
When a black South African woman on the scene tried to reason with Jenkinson, he called her a ‘pig,’ and O’Hara stepped between them in an effort to de-escalate the situation. Jenkinson then kicked O’Hara’s ankle and punched him in the face three times.
On 18 August, Jenkinson was sentenced at the Sherriff Court to a Community Payback Order of 150 hours of unpaid work within 12 months.

Jenkinson later remarked that the anti-racism campaigners were “anti-British, pro-IRA and Revolutionary Communists.” He also asserted that the situation escalated when the anti-racist campaigners called him a ‘Nazi’ and a ‘Fascist.’
Witnesses reported that Jenkinson had shouted about the Scottish Defense League during the incident, but he has denied being a member. He has claimed only to be a proud patriot of Great Britain.
