Birmingham
Mend has a vibrant and active working group in Birmingham. The group is building key areas for work in the City. The latest areas being tackled by the MEND Birmingham volunteers are Islamophobia in schools, against women and towards new-Muslims. In all three areas Mend Birmingham is training volunteers and rolling out innovative initiatives. Aside to this, the group is delivering regular presentations at mosques, universities and community centres. In 2017, the group held a highly successful conference shedding light on the trojan horse institutional Islamophobia in Birmingham schools. This is in addition to the group dealing with individual cases of Islamophobic hate crime and discrimination. Mend Birmingham is looking for fresh volunteers to really take this noble work to the next level, join now and see how you can find your place in an inspirational group.
