The Daily Mail reports  on the court appearance of Tony Perrin, 28, yesterday on charges brought under the Communications Act after he posted a comment on Facebook threatening to ‘massacre Muslims’.

Perrin, a supporter of the English Defence League, posted comments under the name Tony Mundy, saying:

“You Muslims aren’t the only people that make explosives and your (sic) not the only people willing to commit acts of insane violence. Watch this space…Revenge will be taken!”

The paper reports the summing up by Judge Clark who said “the aggravating factors were his ‘glorification of firearms’ and the incitement of ‘revenge attacks’.”

Perrin, who was sentenced to four months imprisonment, responded to the judgment saying:

“I haven’t done anything wrong. They tried to cut someone’s head off and I posted something online. They want to send me to prison?

“What jail is he going to put me, bearing in mind there are Muslims in all of them”, according to the Daily Mail.

Perrin is one of several individuals who have been prosecuted for posts inciting racial hatred and violence on social media sites following the murder of Drummer Lee Rigby in Woolwich.

Benjamin Flatters who appeared at Skegness Magistrates Court yesterday, was sentenced to 14 days for inciting racial hatred.
