Amidst Israel’s onslaught against the people of Gaza, media outlets and other organisations have been going to the Campaign Against Antisemitism (CAA) for apparently neutral commentary on what constitutes antisemitism, particularly in the context of protests against the treatment of the Palestinians.
However, this short briefing paper on CAA casts the group’s credibility as a politically impartial charity into question. This paper shows how the group has often worked to conflate criticism of Israeli state actions with antisemitism. When considered, the evidence produced in this paper should give pause to anybody who considers going to the CAA for neutral commentary on antisemitism, and Israel-Palestine, in the current political climate.
