Salaam/Hello from MEND’s Central London Working Group!
We are based in the heart of London, where diversity is celebrated. We are here to help make sure it stays that way by raising awareness about Islamophobia and the ways we can challenge it together. As a grassroots organisation, we focus on building links with local communities, with specific emphasis on students and working professionals.
Formed less than two years ago, our core work revolves around creating awareness through presentations and workshops educating the community about Islamophobia, but also the political and media systems in the UK more broadly and how to go about proactively engaging with these. This is done via mend’s flagship ‘Causes and Cures’ presentations and Politics and Media masterclasses. We have many other projects and events in the pipeline which we would love for you to get involved in. These include martial arts session for women, professional networking events, mosque presentations and more.
The group is also actively involved in supporting national mend events and liaising with other London branches but also national organizations such as FOSIS, City Circle, among others. We aim high, and we want your help to ensure success. Drop us a line you via the information provided below – we’d be happy to talk!
